From the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90).      Follow the Mass  Pike to the end and follow the signs to Logan Airport (Ted Williams Tunnel).  Take route 1A north exit from the tunnel.  Follow directions below from Logan Airport.

From Boston/Logan Airport .  Coming out of the airport follow route 1A going north.  Follow 1A for 2.5 miles to a big rotary.  Stay to the right and follow 1A signs to Lynn, Swampscott.  Stay on 1A for 4.3 miles over the General Edwards bridge, past a Wal-Mart, along a commercial strip called the Lynway.  After you see a MacDonald's on your left, get in the right lane to follow signs to Swampscott and Nahant, continuing on the Lynway -it goes right towards the ocean.  Don’t take the left turn on 1A which goes straight into Lynn, from which you may never return, but continue straight on the Carroll Parkway to Swampscott.  At the rotary follow the signs for Swampscott, Marblehead, do not go to Nahant.  Follow the coast road through Swampscott until you come to a fork in the road, take the left which is route 129.  Follow to Marblehead, on the way you will see a sign for Marblehead (founded in 1629).  At the 4^th light, which is Ocean Avenue take a left on Ocean Ave and then take a right at the next light which is Pleasant St. At the flashing yellow light take a left on Maverick St.  Number 15 is the large grey house on the right hand  side of the road. Distance is about 15 miles from Boston.

From Route 128.   Take exit 25A, Route 114 to Salem and Marblehead. When you get off the exit get in the left hand lane and at the 2^nd light take a left following 114.  Follow 114 and take a right where the sign says 114 cars only and then a right at the T intersection.  Follow 114 and you will see a big Hess station on your left, go over the overpass and get in the left hand lane, go through the light at Essex St. and take the next left on Norman St., which is 114. Take a right at the next big intersection and then a left at the next light following 114. You will pass Salem State College (take a left at the fork keeping the college on your right (a right at the fork will take you to Swampscott and Lynn).  Be careful because the 114 sign is confusing at this point.  About a mile later Salem Harbor is on your left and a salt marsh on your right.  Follow 114 through 3 lights and then look for the fire station on your right and a traffic light which is Ocean Ave. Go through the light and then a left at the flashing yellow light which is Maverick St. Number 15 is a large 3 story grey house on your right about half way up the street.
